Shot off an email to Richard Gierlinger FWIW here is his reply. Reports indicate big improvements using his gears (and replacing some bearings) albiet at a cost.

The EQ6 gear set consist of following parts:
Wormwheel made from brass or bronce
Worm made from stainless steel
The dimensions (teeth, modul, diameter,.. are the same like the original gear in your EQ6)
Prices
1 Piece Euro 298.- / per piece
2-3 Piece Euro 285.- / per piece
4 and more Pieces Euro 278.- / per piece
To this prices will be add the packing and transport (packing weight max. 2Kg).
Germany, Italy Euro 15.-
Rest of Europe (Swizerland, France, Spain, Dutch,...) Euro 20.-
Northamerika Euro 25.-
Southamerika Euro 30.-
Australia, New Zealand Euro 35.-

Your local tax is also not included in my prices.

It's worth noting that 333 euros only buys one pair of gears (worm & worm wheel) as it's considered that RA only is required.
