Nebula

I was wondering why nebula emit radiation in the three major nebula wavelengths: OIII, Hydrogen-a and Hydrogen-b. I was wondering about this because I'm interested in purchasing some filters designed to transmit these wavelengths. It is advertised that these filters are best suited for nebula as they mostly transmit these wavelengths.

Thanks for your help.
