And Saturn is not at its best for us this year, nor for a while yet. Nevertheless it is a mind-blowing object to see for the first time. I met someone once when I was living in Perth. Complained about the light pollution around where we lived and he invited my wife and I to his place - a nice dark rural spot.
Set up the old 8" LX50 that I had before the LX90 and trained it on Saturn. The man's small daughter was standing by ready to have a look at anything. So I pointed to Saturn as a light in the sky and then invited her to look through the EP. What I got was a 'Wow!!!!' My heart melted. I must be a softie.
