If I were buying a new laptop I think I'd have to get it with XP installed, and possibly upgrade to Vista in a year or something. I don't like the idea because it's only postponing the inevitable, but at least it'd be usable for that year.
I hope you manage to get it all running soon Dave, must be a real pain.
