What a fizzer! I'm currently living at Bloomfield (along the Bloomfield Track) and just before 9:30 we got calls to evacuate to higher ground. Took off to a beautiful location north and inland of Ayton and quietly listened to the radio and admired the views.
Thankfully, it all came to nothing and we returned home a couple hours later.
A useful exercise in evacuation anyway. Just one of the many things to endure and enjoy about living in the far north!!!
