That was one of the moments which stood out for me too.

Even though I was aware the moon was gradually receding at the rate of a few centimetres per year, I had never given thought to the long-term consquence of what that meant vis-a-vis solar eclipses.

As the doco pointed out, we are indeed fortunate to live at a time when the moon is at such a distance as to create this phenomena.

At some point in the future these events will be discussed in almost myth-like tones. People will talk of a time when these things once occurred. Our time!

It made me think I really should chase one of these events down in my lifetime
