Found some freeware webcam server software, it allows you to use a webcam and view snapshots over the net. The open source software is available at
http://www.webcam2000.info/ It's simple to configure and works well. You will need an understanding of port forwarding to successfully use the software. In my case I port forwarded (ONLY) port 3200 to the machine that has the webcam server software on it. I intend to put a webcam outside as a weather cam, or if I can get enough gain maybe a night sky cam. Those with voyeuristic intentions can take a peek at my trial setup to a webcam on my monitor at
