Mars - a hint of what's to come

In reply to Mike's thread in the General forum about this morning's seeing.

I was having such a great time with Jupiter, I finished my session with a quick Mars capture just to see if there was anything to "see" yet.

Starry Night says Mars is still only 4.7 arcseconds.

Still, I'm pretty happy to have captured the polar cap and what I believe is the major surface feature Syrtis Major?

It's cute, ain't it

Can't wait for it to get larger. I got to it too late last apparition.
