Yeah, there is plenty of flat ground, the observing field is quite large. And the tree's aren't a problem, they are lower than they look when it get dark The line of trees shown are also the tallest/closest, to the east, with the north, south and west being very close to flat.

You can see the glow of Perth to the north-west from this site. It's not a large problem but would prevent wide field photography in the low to mid north through west of the sky due to gradients. It is 2 hours drive from the city, but you know what it's like with light pollution and how far it spreads. When I started going to the Astro Camp about 14 camps ago, you couldn't see Perth at all.

I see I've messed up another one of the photo's .. the 'View' one isn't coming up with the right photo.. damn thing, couldn't get it right this time :-( .. I'll sort it out tonight.
