I don't agree at all. There's no reason R4 should not align planetary pics with MAP processing any worse than it can align lunar pics with MAP processing.
The only thing I can suggest is post a screenshot at each stage during registax processing, so I can see what your options are. I can then post the same during my processing and look for any differences.
I use MAP processing on planets all the time (Saturn and Jupiter) and I never get those jagged edges.
