Hi Baz,
Do you need to spend that much as it sounds as though you are on your way to a dedicated astro camera
. I dont know what others think and I have not used one but what about a 400d
..10 meg some good features, body only a little over $1000 and put the change in a draw for the day you go CCD dedicated cooled with guiding chip camera
