Water for Sydney is not the problem; water for the country is not the problem the problem is found within the way Government moves in response to the most active voices in the community , which are only offering a solution that feathers their nest . Desalination is a stupid uneconomic response offered by those selling desalinators ..may be a good solution for them but it leaves the problem but subtracted resources from dealing with the real problem. I though about the underwater dam idea to replace the prospect of water tanks at every house, but it will get no following because the desalinator people will be there to offer reasons why that won’t work yet their idea will.seems to work OK for Hong Kong by the instalation of collection dam using a cove...But thats selling folks I expect them to do such ...fair enough ...but why accept a costly solution that will cost more as the years go by and one that relies on greater consumption of energy as opposed to ideas that reduce our energy comsumption. The water available to Sydney for example is boundless yet we are lead to believe the opposite . Why . Because the deal has been done ...blind Freddy could see it if he bothered to look . Does it not make you wonder that the last thing the last Premier did before leaving office was to run over seas to fix this problem with a salepresentation by the desalinators crew????When the desalinators are in place ask yourself why you stood by and let it happen without a wimper...but don’t complain if you did nothing when water becomes as expensive as petrol given that it at that point has to be produced rather than collected and stored.
