Jupiter + (best ever) detail on Ganymede - 15th February
Hi all
Here's the final and best image from my session on the 15th February at 5:41am local time. Jupiter was at 54° altitude.
While I've obtained better images of Jupiter last season (in better seeing), this image of Ganymede is my best ever.
12" newt + EQ6, DMK21AF04 + 5x powermate, 15fps (1/15s exposure), 450 frames stacked in each channel.
Processed in Registax, AstraImage and Photoshop. Synthetic luminance layer created from the merged RGB channels.
The animation of 16 images will come in the next day or two! Showing ganymede's shadow transiting as ganymede gets closer to transiting.
Thanks for looking. Make sure to expand your browser if the image is resized.
