Hi Gary and Hi Ric,

First things first: Thanks for the good words.

I could send larger pics via email. I cannot upload files greater than 150KB. The best files are in *.TIFF(12 bits). Any ideas? email?

I am currently experimenting with High Dynamic Range (HDR) images In the furure this will be the way to go. Current displays do not have the ability to display HDR images but there is alot of work going on to produce displays.

I am using a program called "Photomatix Pro" that was designed for terrestrial photography and I am trying it on astro photos. This code is avaible from:
http://www.hdrsoft.com/
and produces stunning still photos - doesn't do to bad on astro pics (?). You just have to choose a suitable exposure range. The M42 pic had a total exposure of 1630 sec for 11 images.

I think that Photomatix is superior to Photoshop processing - I understand that CS2 has facility to work with HDR images.

The telescope I am using is a Takahashi TOA150 without any field correction.

Best regards,

Jerry.
