Hey i'm cured!!!!
Thanks John, i downloaded firefox2 and put it to the test and all is good now although it did unlog me when i did not click the remember me box but with it ticked its fine!!!
I also downloaded the add on spell check, fantastic,no more reaching for the dictionary.
