It is an unusual story and I am sure that there are many parts of it that we will neither know about nor understand...
I suspect that this has the folks at NASA pretty stressed right now trying to understand the hows and whys...and trying to determine what changes need to be made to the selection process...
One simple solution would be to pick me for the next mission (or the one after that)...I promise I won't "freak out"
if they pick me...
