Hey Dean.

It's always great to see something new on the planet. Jupiter is an amazing dynamic place.
The moon you saw was Ganymede.

Download and install the program called Jupiter 2. Just put in the timezone and it will show you the position of the GRS and satellites so you can predict transits in advance so you know when to get up to observe (or in my case, image ). It's a great program, and I use it every day during Jupiter season.
