and the banding is present in every single longish exposure - no matter what the iso, as soon as you stretch it ..whamo! there is it is! and yes i am definately browned off - especially after reading all the glowing support of digital over film prior to buying it - phooee - for an an old film fan, this was further proof of the diabolicalness of digital
(ie: would have to buy and start using a pc for one thing

I didnt plan to use the 350d for astro work in the dark at the time, just twilight and normal daytime stuff, at which it does a superb job btw! normal camera usage would not show it up, so a seller wouldnt even know i guess
