Eric, I do exactly as you do.
On, off, on, off etc. Very annoying!
It sounds like your eyes are identical to mine. I need my glasses to look for stars then take them off to use the scope, and I have the binocular Dioptric wound right out!!!
I have no great tips, but I'd like some.
