Thank you for the link Jacques, interesting how many names the 'Moon' actualy has. I think Australia use similar names for the 'Moon' as the American's though I might be wrong?

These are some Aboriginal names for 'Moon' that I found on the net...

Bahloo - the moon goddess - one aboriginal legend tells of how Yhi, the sun, courted Bahloo, but he refused her advances. The myth says that this is why the sun chased the moon across the sky. Yhi threatened the spirits who held up the sky that if they let him escape down to earth, she would plunge the world into darkness.

Gidja - moon god, creator of women

Kidili- an ancient moon-man who attempted to rape some of the first women on Earth (Mandjindja)

JANNALI- Moon

Keewong - means 'place where the moon camped'

Meelup- the "up" means "the place of"."Meel" is "moon" and it only takes a trip to Meelup Beach on a fine night when the moon rises over the water to understand the name.
