Yes the universe as we know it as huge place, and intellegent life comes and goes in great abundance, logic dictates It has to. However its also extremely old, thus the chances of two inteligent and similar life forms looking for each other and finding, in near proximity, also in thier own brief "relatively speaking" period of existance is incredibly small. Do the sums.
Therefor there must be a terestrial explanation for the odd unexplained phenomena, that is not quite simply a hoax..
