I try to think of other peoples feelings Ian. At this time of year non-Christmas folk are bombarded with our rants and raves and celebrations of the silly season, and it is right in their face in shops, on TV, they get wished a Merry Christmas etc.
All these thing I enjoy, but I just like to remember that not everyone celebrates what we celebrate. Christmas can be offensive to some. So, that's why I like to wish them a happy holiday from work, school or whatever.
Even though I am a Christian, I wanted to experience a true Jewish Passover. I went to the Ballarat Synagogue on Passover but it was shut!
I like to know about other peoples celebrations. I may not celebrate them, but I like to learn and know, and have respect for their special occasions.
EDIT: Oh, and also International Dark Sky Night too
