Sorry, Rod. I've also had a Celestron Nexstar 11 previously for the several years but not had an opportunity to do a side by side comparison with a 10" Meade. I like these scopes for their good optics, reliability, and ergonomic design. They're very easy and convenient to use.
The 11" should give you 21% more light, which is not to be sneezed at.
I have compared it directly with a 14" LX200 with faint deepsky objects at a dark sky site and consider that it really isn't worth the extra bulk, weight and hassle for the difference the 14" delivers. For me the 11" is a good compromise - the maximum aperture that can comfortably be portable and with my local skies I certainly need a scope that can be put in the back of the car.

How have you found its operation? It would very interesting to do a shoot out between the Meade LX200R and the Celestron CPC. I would be particularly interested in assessing whether there is a noticeable benefit of the extra inch in aperture, when comparing with the the Meade 10" LX200R. Have you had the chance to compare?
