The movie was great. One of my all-time faves. It was a tad, shall we say, "licentious" when it came to the truth, but hey, it was good all the same. There were in fact more Americans there manning the Parkes dish than anyone else for the few days either side of Apollo 11. The website ives a good in-depth account of the actual happenings that week with lots of photos. It really wasn't that long ago, and some of the equipment and gear was way before its time.
