I've tried the same with a fuji s304 . I attached the camera to the telescope with minimum distance between the camera lens and a 25mm eyepiece and found that by adjusting the zoom increased magnification and reduced vignetting could be achieved.I think as is mentioned above an eyepiece with a larger lens will reduce the effect further.Have attached a picture that i took of copernicus this way last year. I have reduced the resolution down to 320x240 for this post , it was a 3megapixel pcture.
