For the heartache these scumbags cause, the returns for them are likely to be very small indeed.
A few years ago my work car got broken into and about 30k worth of test instruments, tools and an old laptop got stolen. The test instruments prob got offloaded for $100 to someone who had no idea what they were, and maybe $50 for the laptop that contained dozens of programs for programming equipment, special purpose leads and customer configs.
It tooks weeks and weeks of work to rebuild and replace everything.
