FOR SALE: 6 inch f5 dob $275

Some of my stuff has to go! I have been told!

This little scope is lightweight and fun to use, An average person can stay seated in a normal chair when viewing at all positions. The primary is a Meade 6 inch f5 (focal length 760mm), about 9 years old now so the coatings are not immaculate but are still fine for casual stargazing. The curved secondary vanes still show diffraction spikes and the focuser is a rough home made helical type. The finder is 6x30 and two plossls are included, 25mm (30x) and 7.5mm (100x). The tube is varnished 4mm gaboon marine ply, the rest is a mixture of tassie oak, mahogany and more ply.

Asking $300, prefer to sell in Perth WA. PM me if you are interested or post a reply here if there is more info required.

Due to the absolute zero response to this ad I am dropping the price to $275. I will also include an as new copy of Collins Pocket Guide to Stars and Planets by Ian Ridpath and Wil Tirion (3rd edition). If you are interested but the price seems high let me know and we may be able to work something out. This would be a great scope for a beginner or casual observer and is nice enough looking to leave on display in the lounge room.
