First venture to dark skies
Hi,
Well, I am only just beginning at this game, and after some time in my Southern Sydney backyard learning all the constellations like I am supposed to do, I got a great opportunity to take my 8" Bintel Dob (+ Televue, 9mm, 15mm, 25mm, and 32mm Plossls) to Tea Tree Flat via Kandos.
What a difference!! Only trouble was, nothing looked the same and I could not navigate at all. Where has Grus gone???? What's that, wasn't there before (Tarantula Nebula)?
After a while, and much confusion, we got going. Good thing Jupiter was there. However I was a bit the reverse to the other posters here, retreated to Sydney, ah, now I know what's what.
Another visit out of the city needed.
