I’ve ended up with quite a range of image processing software and as a result, have only explored minor pieces of functionality in each one, so I cannot really comment on the full functionality of the various packages.
- I use CCDSoft to operate the ST7E ccd camera and acquire images.
- MIRA AP is used to subtract Dark Frames, apply Flat Fields then Register and Combine the images.
- I have only occasionally used Maxim DL for its deconvolution and star bloat tools.
I think Maxim DL is highly regarded, but quite expensive and they have a rather draconian policy of software updates IMO. I obtained a discounted copy with a US $50 off voucher when I acquired my ST7E 2nd hand.
