You're the man ving I'll download it and give it a go.

Could do Mike I'll have a look if vings find doesn't do the job for me.

I'm trying to cheat with PCFE. I figure if I can invert images of sunspots so the background is blackish, maybe, just maybe, PCFE will work with them
