It took Tesla about 30 seconds - and he did it in his head.
0+100 = 100
1+99=100
2+98=100
...
...
...
49+51=100
so there are 50 pairs of X+Y = 100, so that equals 5000. And then there is 50 left over, so the total is 5050!
