Anything under $1000 they don't add GST, it says that on their website .. found it just yesterday for something I am getting from the US. So you shouldn't get charged any GST. This is understandable as it would cost them more money than the government would receive if they chased up GST on a $500 item.

I've never had any problem with them, I have once ordered something over the limit, received a call, paid for it with my credit card right there and then, and received the item soon after.

Edit: They sum up recent imports for your destination address. So if you order 3 x $500 packages delivered to the one address within a few weeks (they don't say exactly how long) you will get charged GST at some point on the whole lot.
