I agree with Slice, KI is my favourite holiday destination, still close to adelaide, in SA, by far, magic and world class.
I kinda like the architecture in the copper triangle ie Burra, Kapunda - places and towns along the 'ol man murray river are kinda cool, house boats ect. culminating in the coorong murray mouth, another fave, BIG walks along the beaches there.
I love the genuine huge expanse outback as well, plenty of it LOL, thats abit of driving tho - but differing much from WA outback i wouldnt know? ie great expanses of nothing/saltbush.
yep flinders rocks, pardon the pun, again dont know how much that differs from any similar WA experience - the more remote, northern flinders ect, the better - but thats serious driving and 4wd stuff, especially with early dec being summer conditions probably, awesome night skies!
southern flinders has some nice spots/pockets - melrose for instance - do the mt remarkable walk, thats not bad for a closish spot quickie. wilpena pound is the most common destination in the flinders proper.
S/E corner of SA is very nice, particularly the coast, and border with vic
All the good bits in SA are very far apart unfortunately, and need 4WD for the choicest bits imo.
The far west coast is gorgeous and excellent and chockers full of goodies, but so bloomin far away it might as well be another country for most city dwellers here - but plenty of good stuff on the coastline all the way over there, I would hazard a guess
SA, altho obviously not as big, like WA, is just simply massive, hard to generalise.
My favourite thing about SA personally, is the massive endless areas of dark skies and clear weather, generally speaking.
