I always get the prototype up as what you have done then fine tune my designs for anything. I don't work from plans (I can I have been trained), I work out of my head and expect everything to just work first up. It doesn't always happen but fine tuning is never a major issue to end up with an amazing end result, as you have, minor adjustment and you're done.
It's still a great little obs' set up with a flip off roof!
