8x40 Monocular under $40

Aldi currently have 10x50 binoculars and an 8x40 monocular on special as of today for $35 or thereabouts (I can't remember, under $40). Of course I bought one because they can be handy and it focuses on the distant mountains with ease (trees look fine) and also has a diopter adjustment I couldn't figure out without putting a marked box some distance from myself and monocular and haven't done as of yet (it's how I get my camera monoculars right, auto focus on a box/paper with writing on it then dial the diopter in till I can read without glasses. This thing doesn't have auto focus so I'm a little confused how to do it). There is a lot of CA using it in daylight for what I was trialling it on and no doubt it would be the same in the dark but for a very quick spotting thingie it's ideal.
It also comes with a very small Gorilla type tripod (I think that's what the things are called with bendy, wrap around legs) and a phone holder though I haven't tested it and don't think it would be of much use/quality other than kids playing with it. Who knows, I haven't tried it but the CA all around the lens suggests this.
Still, for under $40 it will be handy for me as a small, light spotting device and could be for others.
NO, despite how it may seem I am not affiliated in any way with the company, I just think for the money it's not terrible value if you have a use for such a thing.

EDIT: Looking at a clouded moon and it wasn't that bad to be honest.
