Thanks Joe!

I've since decided to use my D810, astro trac and 14mm f2.8 ED (Samyang) and get decent photos. I went out today and did my solar noon marking again at precisely 12:01:37 PM on a levelled surface this time and my old line was about 10 degrees off. I'd forgotten to level the area, my yard is sloping.
I did 100 30 second images the other night but they all drifted with the 35mm f1.4 Samyang lens and I realised with the rotation my north/south alignment was off, I've improved on that now.

I've also been working on a mask of a type for my 14mm (same lens as yours if yours is all manual) having read strainers work well on wide angle camera lenses for focusing. Under $10 with some plumbing fittings. My focus with that lens is always an issue and I've seen videos about resetting the focus point and when I next find accurate infinity for crisp stars I may do exactly that so I wind it around once and lock it at infinity and it's done.
Nice lens, leaves a little out in the manufacturing department (my second, the first new one I purchased couldn't reach infinity but it was quickly exchanged.
How are you liking the minus 4 temps Joe?
Oh, silly question, you migrated from Canberra, it's like summer in Young in comparison.

I still have 2" sheets of ice in my wheelbarrow in the back yard at 2PM.
