They are supposed to be a good focuser from what I've read.
My RC8 carbon has the GSO steel track focuser (not called that but very similar principle). As it is I have 2 identical focusers but ones balls didn't roll very smoothly so I removed them, dropped them everywhere (tiny little things and a HORRID job replacing them (or finding them on the floor)) without getting a chance to accurately count them, measured them and bought ceramic balls, it's smoother than the other original focuser now. It was a little trial and error as to the amount of rollers in the unit but it works nicely now.
