Today I managed to remove 4 back-end screws (again, a proper screwdriver and adequate force towards the screw and torque in left direction).. but they are just part of the rotating bracket assembly.. so it seems the mirror is inaccessible from behind.. and I didn't see anything inside the tube when I had the front assembly removed, but now I after a better look I could see the slots of the mirror retaining ring inside..
So, most likely those 4 screws (under the rubber grip, that I removed first) were the key, they are here to prevent unscrewing the front part of the barrel.. the thread of which is most likely glued because I couldn't disassemble it when I tried (most likely I was not forceful enough).
I think the acetone will help here as well, but I left this for sometimes later, depending on more star tests, to determine if the residual astigmatism is tolerable or not.
