The Glendale App is favoured by most people on the aurora chase groups and forums. It takes a bit of time to understand. If you give it access to your location in your smartphone, it feeds you magnetometer readings from the nearest public feed magnetometer to your location in
real time. You can set up audible alerts. Since I started using that app in May last year, I have caught something like 10 events.
You won't find it on the app store. It's a web app and operates via the browser on your phone. It's amazing because it covers observers anywhere in the world. This is my primary source of real time information.

When a really bright event like last Sunday occurs, it sometimes falls over due to the weight of traffic. My argument is there is so much publicity about those events, you don't need the apps. But I have used it to catch many of the unexpected events.
