I am generally not a time lapse photographer but for aurorae, I agree that time lapse is the best way to convey the dynamic nature.

My early attempts were more crude and time consuming but now that I have the workflow sorted, I can get them processed and rendered relatively quickly.

I have an article I wrote setting out the capture and workflow for making these time lapse videos. If you or anyone else wants a copy, just pm me your email address. The pdf file is 1MB, bigger than the 500kB posting limit on IIS.
