I'd snatch up a Mk 2-Mk4 given the opportunity and right price (cheap in my case, very cheap) and knowing all of my Nikon lenses fit straight on with my adapter. The live view of the Mk4 was so much better shooting the MW in farm dark skies than my crappy Nikon thing, nothing but noise.
Does the mk2 have WiFi or live view Nik?
My friend also has this $20,000 lens (New Canon price about 3 years ago), I'm not sure whether it's 600mm or 800mm (possibly the 1200mm looking the thing up) or what it is but it's huge and when he gave me his Mk4 to bring home he also wanted me to bring the big lens home and play. This lens was a monster of a thing and while I'd have loved to play with it I kindly rejected the opportunity because I could not afford to have it repaired if anything went wrong and as such I refused to take it. My friend was quite upset but I assured him one day I'd like the opportunity to play with the camera and lens in his presence.
