If you are connected to the Mount using WiFi and have the Mount App and Ascom driver running you don't need any cables for guiding. PHD2 will connect to the Mount using the Ascom Driver for guiding.
I have been running my ZWO AM5 like this for over a year.
I actually use a ASIAIR pro mounted on the scope. The only cable to the mount is a power cable.
