The setting circles provide good and easy alignment with objects after initial setting on 1 or 2 stars.
The rotary encoder has 10000 ticks all of which are used, the tape encoder is approximately 780000 per revolution, however only 1/4 of that is in use. Numbers are set in Sky Safari.
