Skywatcher EQ8 Equatorial Mount

After successfully operating my Skywatcher EQ8 mount for over ten years I've decided to upgrade to a new mount, hence my old workhorse is now up for sale. The EQ8 is specified as having a 50Kg payload though I have never pushed this mount anywhere near that. Here is a link to the mount description and specifications on the Skywatcher Australia site. I still have the original shipping box as per the image on the Skywatcher page.

The mount head weight comes in at 25Kg and then we have the 2 x 10Kg counterweights and counterweight shaft. Given the overall weight I don't think that shipping is an option so we are looking at a pick up from Glanmire NSW (near Bathurst).

The package includes:
  • The original shipping box
  • The EQ8 mount head
  • 2 x 10Kg counterweights
  • Counterweight shaft
  • Power cable
  • Hand controller
  • EQ dir cable for connection to PC

Note that this mount is one of the original series so is NOT the EQ8 R version. It has been performing well for me over the years. See attached images of mount taken prior to de-installation.

I'm thinking that $2,200 or near offer is a reasonable starting point for this mount.
Edit: Price drop to $1,950 o.n.o.

Please PM with any questions.

Clear skies,
Rodney
