Did you use Virtualbox as the hypervisor? The methods will be different depending on which hypervisor you used.

For Virtualbox, you need to install the Extension Pack for your version, add the USB drive to the VM and make sure your user is a member of the vboxusers group (though this should be the case already). You will probably also want to install Guest Additions in the guest (Windows 10) while you're at it.

You can also set up a shared folder to swap files in and out of the VM.
