Trev,
I review all my subs prior to stacking in ASTAP before discarding any of them . I’ve even kept lowish score subs and found that all data helps improve your SNR. Clear nights are hard to find on the East Coast.
The only subs I discard are ones severely affected by cloud or guiding. I do a visual on each one ( zoomed in to an area of bright and faint stars ) then run them through ASTAP analyse and compare results.Satellite trails are generally looked after by the ASTAP Sigma Clip stacking algorithm but I usually pick up sat trails during my ASTAP review.
Reviewing my subs and correctly vetting them has helped immensely in producing a good stacked image ready for post processing.
Do you review your subs before stacking ?
I think you use Siril ? Doesn’t Siril have a feature to review subs before Stacking ?
I’ve imaged under 30 to 35km/hr westerly winds at my South Coast NSW Obs Dome and subs have been fine. It’s generally the winds and air mass movement at altitude ( eg Jetstream ) that causes more of an issue. Generally when it’s a bit windy , the humidity is lower and subs are fine but Mother Nature has the last say. Obviously you wouldn’t image under 30 to 35km/hr winds without an Obs or some wind break.
Review your subs and determine if they are ok before you discard them as data is hard to gather , well it is in the east.
I can recommend ASTAP ( if free and extremely good plus well supported by the developer Han )
Here’s the link to ASTAP …..,

If your interested I can send a procedure for review / analyse and stacking , very easy !
Cheers
