Moon, Jupiter and Mars

Some images from last night. The Jetstream has been quite promising but being Melbourne the weather has not been very cooperative particular with cloud. Fortunately got a reprieve and was able to get some images done. While I probably miss the best of the stable condition the results turned out pretty good.

The moon was just a one of while waiting for Jupiter to clear a tree. The crater is Gassendi. A lot for detail particularly in the crater.

Image of Jupiter was capture at 11:43pm, the GRS is just appearing. Still not happy with my processing ability but of course it is a work in progress.

Not wanting to waste a good night I moved on to Mars. The image was capture at 1:29am. After crunching the data, I was very pleased with the outcome. Quite a bit of detail, the light area near the centre of the planet is Elysium Fossae.

As for the equipment; Meade 12"LX200, ZWO UV/IR filter, 2x Powermate, ZWO ADC and ZWO ASI224mc.

Only new change was the purchase of a high quality 5m USB3 Type A to B cable from Lindy in Brisbane to replace all the short cable I had linked together. The new cable operated smoothly without any dropouts.

Cheers
Anthony
