Yes, it was indeed a motorcycle brake drum I found from my next door mechanic. To minimise weight I was trying to find right counter weights. The other disc was from a dead pool pump and I used some lead to get precise balances. Newtonian scopes are hard to get right, but once you got experiences you could build any sizes with easy. In fact, I also rebuilt a 300F5 which seemed to be much more stable with focusing.
