Was this captured in Sydney or down the south coast and did you get your mount problem down there resolved (electrical problem from memory)?
I'm trying to get a pier in now to play but I think the weather is going to be against me for a few days (pit has been dug for ages where I stand my mount and I don't want anything falling down the hole in the dark) and a lot of local businesses aren't open between Christmas and new years. The 600x600x50 prefab I was hoping to buy from Bunnings to hide the slab (to make the top 6 inches easily removable should the department of housing complain, I doubt they will) are no longer available, I either go full solid cube or build my own former, grab some weld mesh and cast my own.

Thanks Leo
M42 was captured in good ol’ heavy light polluted Sydney ( the posted SHO version had all the capture details )
Startools does a remarkable job of taming the super bright core region without the need for super short subs and layering process.
I’m down the south coast at my holiday home until end of January. In regards to the 12” Goto Dob ,I’m armed with a new power supply , a second handcontroller with new curly cord , USB cables and a stack of info from Graeme from Skywatcher Australia who has suggested a few things to check to try and resolve the Az motor speed/ rate problem. I’ll probably tackle it next week when the kids and grandkids head back to Sydney after their holiday leave break.
Happy New Year !!
Martin
