Wouldnt the diffraction pattern indicate something more in the line of a physical obstruction like people with a RASA get with their cable unless its nicely curved? More of a spider vane sort of thing. Funny enough your diffraction pattern is what I see in the Seestar.

You'll probably get a nice blue running man nebula.
